Septum piercing help?

the first month or so there will be a lot of swelling and pain, so consider a clear insert instead of flipping it up...but from there on after, wear it flipped up as long as you want...i flip mine when i go to work, and thats an 8-16 hr day. i never cleaned mine really, just make sure your hands are clean when you touch it and move it around about once a week. its going to be very painful, almost like you've snorted glass shards and you can feel it in your cheeks under your eyes. i'd say its the most painful piercing ive gotten. oh yeah, its gonna smell like death for a while, this is normal.
